Torcan Successful at International Pool & Spa Show

December 2006, Las Vegas NV. - Torcan Corporation successfully launched the Electronic Auto Pool Fillers at the 2006 International Pool and Spa Show in Las Vegas. There was much interest generated by pool dealers, suppliers, repair and maintenance companies, contractors and distributors in the United States and internationally.

The products’ unique solid state sensor probes are hardwired into the electronics which monitors the pool water level and triggers the water valve when water is called for. Innovative Swimming Pool Technology

Florida – March, 2006 - Torcan Corporation, a Ft. Myers based company has developed an affordable electronic device that monitors and automatically replenishes swimming pool water. This device, the ‘Auto Pool Filler’, is located out of sight of the pool area and blends into the environment.

The product was designed to keep pool water from dropping below the skimmer line, eliminating the need to physically monitor and maintain water levels. When water drops below the skimmer intake, the pool pump can run dry causing serious damage to the pump. Hands free maintenance is convenient and important for pool owners, particularly for those who are away for long periods of time.

 “The Auto Pool Filler has done away with all the worry and hassle of refilling my pool,” says Bill Hood about his test unit.  “No more retrieving, attaching and dragging the hose into the pool. That’s tedious, time consuming, cumbersome and dangerous. I don’t have to worry about leaving the screen door ajar for the hose and getting insects in my lanai and filling the pool is automatic.”

There are some mechanical devices available to fill pools, explains Torcan’s president Frank White, however, these devices are attached to the edge of the pool and require a hose to be connected across the pool deck which is not only unsightly but a safety hazard.

The automatic pool filler can be installed quickly on existing in-ground pools or during construction.  It consists of 3 components; a sensing device, an electronic regulator, and a valve that is connected directly into the pool pump.

The first working units were placed in pools located in the Ft. Myers area in 2004 and monitored for over a year. Extensive testing was done during product development. Reliability tests ran for over 35,000 cycles of operation without failures.
